Expanding the Backyard

This unusually shallow backyard needed to provide some privacy from the surrounding houses, some open space for children to play in, and a reasonable sized deck for entertaining. And it needed to so, without looking too crammed and contrived. The privacy screen undulates along the back and side property lines, and tricks the eye into believing that there is more space just around the corner. The beds are densely planted with a mixture of trees and shrubs which block the view of the neighbouring houses, while offering interesting colour and texture with the yard itself.
